Indian Rugs and Carpets

Carpet weaving in India was introduced far back in the eleventh century with the coming of the Muslim conquerors by the Ghazvavids and Ghauris from the West. Under the Mughal rule, Indian craftsmanship adopted Persian designs and techniques.
